The noise I'm refering to specifically is a constant buzz/hum from the rt front. It happens when the car is in motion. It eases when I turn right, but remains as I turn left. My first instinct is wheel bearing. Am I correct in that assumption? If not, what else could it be?

PS -- this is what that part of the alphabet would look like without Q and R.

Yep, thats what it is...wheel bearing. If you do it yourself I advise you to remove the lower ball joint rivits from the control arm, and undo the strut top mount bolt and take it out as assembly...much easier. Then have someone press the old one out and new one in.

For sheets & giggles, move your front and rear tires (on the buzzing side) and see if it goes away. It may be a bad tire, they can buzz really bad too.

Or save yourself one of the jack times.. and only jack one wheel (the front....) and see if there is any play in the wheel on the hub.. if you can grasp the wheel and there is any up/down movement, while on the hub securely, then you've got a bad wheel bearing..

In replacing wheel bearings, is there anything special that should be done with the front wheels?

I've only ever seen a wheel bearing replaced on front wheels on rear-drive cars.

the only thing "special yuo do is make sure someone presses it in/out with a machine press.. can't be hammered or forced in, or it will cause premature wear (10K or less?)

I'm about to buy a new bearing soon. The noise had not been unbearable. I just turned up the radio when I didn't want to hear it anymore. It has since gotten louder.

Here's the site that Kappa2006 was at.

What brand would be my best bet for quality, noise levels, and longevity? The above website has Timmken and AC Delco. Also, what parts do I need? Front Inner? Spindle Hub? The Timken bearing (Not spindle hub) seems to say that I need to replace both, but the sound is only on the RT side.

I guess what I'm saying is the more I look at it, the more confused I get. I certainly don't want to buy parts I won't need. I guess I could always return them.

Any thoughts?
