Hey all it's 7 am and i ain;t gone to bed yet but before i do i got a question for everyone i heard a rumor that ford is giving up the svt lineup for 2 years to go to the old svo lineup
1.is it true?
2. do you think the mondeo or the rs8 will come here?

I haven't heard anything like that, but I know the 'brand' is repositioning itself to offer higher performance (pretty much it in a nutshell).
As far as the Mondeo I doubt we will ever see that car in its current form, because Ford will offer a vehicle stateside on the Mazda 6 platform, which the Mondeo will be switching to in the near future. From what I hear there will be a high performance version of said car shortly after it debuts.

the reports of svt's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

SVT Focus is dead because it sucked. Lightning and Cobra are now have complete redesigns, meaning SVT has to completely re-do their job. SVT isn't dead, it just has alot of work on its hands.

I've heard direct from Tom Scarpello's mouth and other bigwigs at Ford. SVT is NOT dead. Furthermore, it sounds like it's gonna be better than ever when it does re-emerge with the new line-ups. SVT always wants to make sure the platform from which it's models come has all the bugs worked out. Give it 2-3 years after the F-150 and Mustang comes out and you'll be in awe.

Yep.. new Lightning can't let itself be beat by the SRT/10, not by a long shot.. so they're stickin in a 6-speed and the 550 hp GT engine. Can't wait to see the next Cobra.

That's a lot of speculating. All Ford has said for sure about their plans is ~500hp (lightning is much lighter than a ram, so that's more than enough power) and no plans for manual transmission yet. Even though they built a prototype with a stick, they haven't gauranteed that it will make it into the production lightning. Though it will be nice if it does.

The line up isn't 'dead'. They are not making any 05 products from what I understand, and the 04s are just carryovers. Originally posted by Alucard:

Do you know what your talking about? Yeah its no cobra or viper but out of all the cars in its class i think its the best. The power that you get put out of it, for the price you pay. fsvt is an awsome car
