hey, i´m not sure, maybe that´s how the Zetec is set up, so i don´t post in the troubleshooting forum. maybe it ain´t a problem.

however, when the car is on idle ans i push the pedal to the metal, there is a noise which sorta reminds me of a vacuum leak, coming from underneath the air box (the one on top of the motor connecting the air intake snorkel and the manifold).

dunno, just curious if this is supposed to be there on a Zetec or not...

While still at idle, in your driveway, remove the air filter cover & air filter, then rev it. Does it still hiss?

It's okay to do that as long as you're not putting dirt in there.

Wonder if your airfilter or box has a blockage or leak..\
