I was trying to look just to know where the power amp was so I could do my stereo later on. I read it was behind the glove box and I moved a little box that I thought was it, But it was some kind of remote box and it did something!!!
Now my keyless remote entry does not work and neither does my radio and other small things. Is it a fuse?
Where is the fuse box any way???
Help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was the 'remote box' silver and about 6 inches wide? close to the firewall? If so that is your CPU. I doubt moving that would do anything...the wiring harness is bolted to the computer.

Well, It was that but just when I tried pulling on it everything turned off so I know it had to be related to it. On top of it I didn't even find the stupid amp!
Do you know where the fuse box is and how to get to it?

Fusebox is on the drivers side way up under the dash on the left side. On mine 00SVT there is a tab you pll down on, its on the right side of the box, it then pulls down, on earlier (95) I think you had to push up on them and they would then release.

The amp is black small and will have to move the bottom passanger panel to acces it. It is in between the kick panel and glove box, should able to see it quite easily, has two plugs going to it.

Wish me luck I guess I have my weekend figured out for me.....Thanks
That little gray box is all I've seen in there. May be my car does not have one. It's a 98 se and it says stereo on the speaker panels. Does any body know the easiest way to take the speakers out anyway?
Please excuse my ignorance I am only learning to love my car. (Right now I am still sore for all the fixing I've had to endure on the last 3 years)
Now I am going to learn about it and make better decisions. Hopefully.

Fusebox should be directly above where your left foot would be on the drivers side. On 98's there is a small button of sorts that you just push up on an the fuse box will pop open, don't worry the back is hinged so it will swing down. If your tour is a 98 se and says 'stereo' on the doors and has a cassette deck it didn't get the 'premium sound' option. Which means it shouldn't have an amp either. The door speakers are very easy to get out. However getting to the door speakers is another story. It's not hard you just have to know where the screws are.

This a link to a Door panel/speaker removal how-to . Should help a lot. Good Luck.

The fuse number is F34. The radio and interior lights are on the same circuit.

I guess we know why he didnt find the amp...LOL another way of knowing if you have an amp is one plug (there two total, plus antenna) from the radio will be square this is the radio's output to your amp, if you have two rectagular plugs (one black, one gray) you have a regular HU without an external amp.

The doors are a pain, actually it is quite easy, but doing it without damaging the plastic is difficult since Ford decided to use the softest plastic they could find. just take your time and be patient otherwise you will really aggrivated and end up with some messed up panels.
