Good post Pete and I'm sure alot of CEG-ers and going to benefit from your informative post as wax/polishes are a mystery to some out there. Heres my take so far: -Griots "best of show" is 23% caranuba content is pretty easy to use, personal tests are ongoing. -Griots Caranuba hard paste (33% content) is also pretty easy to work with and hasn't been as hard to work with as you might think. I have half of it applied to my "beater" as well as half of my wifes new Buick Ranier, the other half has Meguiars NXT on it. Testing is ongoing. -Griots fine hand polish is another great product but this stuff is not easy to work with. It turns white when it dries and doesn't come off easy and what I use is some quick detailer to "lighten" it up and then it comes off pretty easy. The finished product is well worth it IMO. -Meguiars NXT goes on easy and comes off easier and its my favorite Meguiars product. When you look at how easy it is to buy and the cost of it, Zaino is going to be in trouble IMO (no flaming please, just and observation on my part) Some people have been concerned with durability issues, but I mean it just came out, so how does anyone know that yet I welcome any questions pertaining to wax, anything. We're all here to help each other out and I'm no exception

This is a synthetic wax. I like to put the wax on by hand and then use the buffer to remove it. Looks good. I also put wax on my windows, it removes the water spots and does a nice job at making it clean and shinny.

i have been a zaino user for about 3 years now....and have gotten to the point where i am tired of cost and even with the zfx added in....i am tired of the effort and always having to have these "perfect" conditions for the zaino to get the full effect....
well i have been trying the meguiars NXT line in stages now...started with the just the car wash, then i added the spray wax, now i am goin this afternoon to purchase the actual tech wax and will be doin the full job to see...i love the cost factor and the ease factor so far....and i really think, from my current progress and views, that maybe zaino might have some better durability factors, but not enough that a simple car duster couldnt solve your problems with the NXT, just keep the dust from collecting and there is no reason the wax wouldnt last....with just the spray wax on my car currently....it rained the other day....acted in a rain-x sort of manner, and when all was dry, went over with the duster and all is well.....
i am just about sold....this afternoon will be tell the story....we shall see.....

This is the kind of comparison feedback I was looking for

well i am done with the full wax job using meguiars NXT wash, wax, and spray wax..... i must say i am impressed...including cleaning the inside, wheels and tires, washing and scrubbing (you know that good first of the summer kind of scrub minus the claybar), waxing, buffing, spray wax and buff...took me about an hour and fourty-five minutes total....i was very surprised with the total time...this is big sell for me....i was often unmotivated to use my zaino because even with using the zfx you still, sometimes, had to wait almost 45 minutes to an hour to buff each coat of wax....and zaino has separate waxes for scratches and regular polish and the NXT is combined, and once the fine scrathes are filled in, if you apply a second coat, it just goes right over the top as if the clearcoat isnt scratched at all.... right now, it its finished state, the car has very zaino like finish to it...very pleasing to the eye....the big thing is going to be how long it last....here in tn, this is a bad time of the year because of the pollen and dust flying around, so why not get the big tests out of the way first right!?.....from my week of experience with the spray wax it seems that as long as you keep the dust from building up i.e. dusting the car at least every other day, if not once a day (takes 2 minutes) it holds up to water and rain, now with the full wax...we shall see..... so far i recommend it to anyone who wants to try it and after one week, especially since it is supposed to rain here this weekend, i will then make the decision to sell what remaining zaino i have left (i estimate bout 55 dollars worth at the most...) oh yeah, the NXT tech wax has a very pleasing aroma

I've read nothing but great reviews for their wax, but their spray is another story - I recommend a different spray wax/quick detailer as I have read a lot of negative feedback about it.
Just out of curiosity, what are the bad reviews about their spray. I want to buy a quick detailing spray that is "compatible" with the NXT wax. Was going to buy the NXT spray until I remembered reading this. I did use the Griots Speed Shine, but since they have all caranuba waxes I am afraid that they had their speed shine created to work best with those types of waxes. What do you guys think?

The one thing you have to understand Chris is that theres NO product out there that keeps pollen/dust off of your ride, so don't worry about that. That being said, is that NXT the easiest stuff to remove or what

sad enough, i have resorted to carrying my california car duster with me EVERYWHERE!!!!! i dust my car before i go into work in the morning and when i get out of work at night i dust it again!!!!
oh man buffing the nxt stuff off is like wiping up juice on the counter.....hey roger let me ask....since you are big on waxing and buffing....did you hand buff it off? if so, do you think using a buffer on lowest speed possible would produce a better shine, or do you think the added power would be overkill for what the NXT was designed for?

how does the NXT work when you accidently get it on the plastic? (happens every time) And I hate having to go over the entire car with a toothbrush to get the wax off the plastic.

i am guessin you mean if you get it on plastic and it stays on for a while!? i got in a on rubber or plastic a couple of times, cause there is enough not to miss it, especially around the doors, but it just comes right off, just wipe with your rag and keep goin...no probs
i had some overspray of the spray wax on my windshield...i wiped with no hazing, everything was fine!
hope that helps some...
