I was trying to reduce the amount of rattle that my trunk has. I have a 99 svt and i have 2 infinity kappa perfect 12's aimed towards the outside of the car. Everytime they hit they make my trunk rattle and i was considering dynomatt but i heard that is not all that great so i was wondering if anyone has fixed this problem and what they used.

I've got a 96 SE and 2 12" JL Audio W3's and man they made my trunk rattle. and I found if you take off the plastic part covering the trunk latch the whole latch is on sliders. all you have to do is loosen two screws and slide the latch a little down to make the trunk seal a little tighter. and that stopped a lot of the rattling in my car. I also sprayed the interior with Quite Kote. it's like dynomat in a spray can and it worked very well! hope that helps

There are alot of rattles in the trunk. There is the trunklid itself, which is fixed using the above method. There is the rear dashboard which rattles too. Go buy 1" thick foam and put it between the carpeted piece and the steel part of the rear dashboard. That fixed it for me. Some people have been buying hard styrofoam (for insulating houses) at home depot and covering the floor of the trunk. I'm going to do this on my days off next week. It's cheap an apparently has good results.

i have 98 gl and behind the carpeting on the sides there are little vents that have trap door looking things on them that go out behind the bumper. All i did was duck tape them shutfrom the outside and the rattling from underneath stopped. Im not sure what the are put it doesnt seem to have affected anything.
