Wow! I think I am hitting plan obselesence on my Mystique!

I have had a myriad of 'silly' problems lately...

Light bulb out in the clock
Temp Guage no longer works
Drivers side Power window switch broke in the 'locked' position
Rear sway bar bracket broke
EGR valve gone bad
First Drivers side then Passenger side Window Regulator bad

Waiting for whats next. Replaced the EGR valve (3 hours!) and just did the Temp Sensor for the Dash Guage (2 hours!) Most of the time was just trying to turn a wrench or socket. I should have invested in an engine puller ...

Oh well... it's better now. Only have the Window switch and Passenger window regulator left. I keep dreaming of that CTA intake, but money keeps going for this stuff...

Almost the same things. I consider them to be minor , as I have replace lots of stuff on pre '80s cars. We are both getting off 'light' compared to some of the posts I've read...

What did you do about the clock light?
Is the bulb replacable?

Well, now that is a story! It is a #74 bulb (found out in this forum...) and some people have had mixed sucess with replacement. For $3.00 for two bulbs I thought what the heck, I'll give it a try. Clock came out easy. Bulb socket carrier came out easy. Bulb came out with a little Help. :-)

Problem... The clips for the bulb are crimped on to the bulb wires and were not letting go... So I get out my trusty soldering iron...

Nope! Whatever the coating is on the metal clips, did not work.

I figure I have it out, now what are you going to do?

So I droped some 'goop' in the bottom of the socket, bent the wires to touch, and pushed the bulb in there...

It's still working. When it dies, I'll call Bill Jenkins at get a real replacement!

Good Point! It is just anoying, and the fact that it takes money from mods just sucks! The price of the darn window regulator (even from Bill) is the same as a CTA Motorsports Intake!

Oh well... At least it's paid for! Still runs good! And with all the Contour / Mystique / Mondeo friends on ths board, I hope to keep it that way for some time.
