Is there any way to check the engine codes on the tour with out taking it to a ford dealer ship??

thanks for the replys but is there any way you can get the codes out from like the radio i know when my dad use to have his fiero you could like hit some buttons on the radio and the engine codes would pop up yes? no? because im having the CEL coming on and ive reset my computer 2 times already and it is still coming back and i have taken it to ford before and they said they couldnt find any problems

No, not on obd-2. A scanner is the only way I know of to get codes.

Harbor Freight sells an OBD II code reader that reads codes only, but will not scan to see the operating values from the sensors as you can with a full blown scanner. It sells sometimes for $39.95 and sometimes for $49.95.

WORD!! With the combination of the $49 Harbor Freight scanner and CEG, you can't lose. Helped me diagnose my problem real quick. It will save you money the first time you use it, get it.

there is no way of getting if from your radio o such like some other old car you had... you need a code scanner. without one you are not gonna get anything... go to auto zone and this time dont reset the codes before it is checked or you gonna erase the codes in the computer memory and they will not show up....
