ok, i did search on the subject and read all about it. i found that the B&M and the imitation B&M's found on ebay are not "real" short shifters. they are merely shorter shifters without having the pivots modified. that is not what im looking for. (boy am i glad i did a search)
now i know the Steeda is a true short shift but i am under the impression that its no longer being sold? i went to the steeda website and cant find anything on it... nothing for the cougars either...
can someone point me in the right direction in finding the "true" short shifter?
thanks!

Steeda, check out the GB going on right now. . .it's worth the $$$, I can't even remember how bad it was to use the stock one. . .the GB I was on came with a riser plate as well, so it made the install easier. . .Steeda is the way to go!!!

I think the GB is over now but you can still purchase a Focus short shifter from Steeda. You would need to fabricate your own spacer though. I guess you could try to contact the GB guys, they may have extra although I am still waiting for mine to ship.

yeah... im a lil late for the GP i guess i'll sent the guys running the GP and see if there are any left overs...
if i get the focus shifter from steeda, its the non SVT one right? so essentially, the one in the GP was just a focus shifter?

I beg to differ - the throws on the B&M are shorter.
I've had both the Steeda and B&M and felt no difference in throws.
Ray, the guy who had the first Steeda group buy, also had both and stated the same thing - B&M and Steeda felt identical.

hmm... im not sure what to think now... i read in several threads that the B&M and the copies are just "shorter" lengthed shifters no modification in the pivot joint... there are many B&M style short [censored] on ebay for around $25... geeze im so confused and uncertain now...
