well, after a month of waiting, my new car is finally here. over lunch i took delivery of a 2004 infiniti G35 coupe, 6MT/aero/premium, diamond graphite/graphite.
i'm lovin' it so far....of course, i've driven it all of a half-dozen miles from the dealership to the office, but oh well. can't wait for the end of the day so i can go play with my new toy.
i'll post pics later....don't have any to post right now.
getting this car has been a long process, but hopefully i'll stick with it for a while. as some of my fellow SE-CEG'ers can attest, i've been car-hopping for a while now and need to settle down with one for longer than a year.
i traded my CSVT on a 2002 RSX-S back in the fall of '01, but the ride quality, interior quality, and a bad experience with a wheel-and-tire theft left me quite disgruntled with that car after only 13 months....so in november of '02 i traded it on a 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited and allowed for a future "fun car" purchase later on. that came about in august of '03, when i found and bought an evolution orange 2000 miata LS off of ebay. this past winter, my jeep started misbehaving a little bit with a couple CEL's, and the 24k miles i had put on it in just over a year had brought it up to over 80k miles. i figured it was a now-or-never time to get rid of it before anything went wrong and while it was still retaining *some* of its value, so i sold it privately a month ago.
i thought briefly about just buying a mazda 6s and keeping the miata, but ultimately i decided that the 6s would simply be a stepping stone to the infiniti or BMW 330i that i really wanted...and i'd probably be prone to trading up in a year or so. thus, i decided to bite the bullet and got rid of both cars - the jeep and the miata - and bought the G35c.
i don't even know half the stuff this car will do, so i'm going to spend plenty of time w/ the owner's manual tonight and check out all the little features and bells and whistles....and then go driving and listen to that sweet, sweet exhaust note.
