Ah yeah... my Rockford Fosgate 10" was sitting in the office at my apt. complex (How nice of them to leave it there, rather than on my doorstep ) when I got home last night. Put it in the box asap, but didn't get to fine tune all the settings on the head unit and the amp, but I noticed a good bit more thump now than there was before. And hopefully this sub will hold up better than that cheap-azz kenwood I had before. Yeah, I know, it's not anything to wake the neighbors, but it's SOOOoooOOOO much better than the 6x8's in the doors all on their own. =)

Congrats on getting your sub installed. They make a huge difference in sound, don't they?

Don't laugh but I bought the sub and box they are selling on PartsExpress for $50 down from $150. It is a 10" Ultimate sub in a nicely constructed ported box. I also bought an MTX Blue Thunder PRO50X2 ($99) and screwed that onto the back of it, wired it up to my Pioneer DEH-P7000R, and man it sounds SCHWEET! I can't believe how good it sounds for the money I paid!
THanks to APT for showing me PartExpress, and dnewma04 for all the advice and encouragement!

Any when that's not enough bass for you, Dave & I can guide you into a real speaker .

I'd like to hear it some time. I know, you can come over and help me replace my clutch hydralics on the RX. I don't think I'll get a sub for my RX because I'm going a little over my budget for the home stuf, though.

AAAAHHHHH!!! Get that amp off the sub box! The vibrations will eventually tear apart the internals of the amp, and you'll find yourself paying for a new one.

Ok, so it's not that bad, but you really should mount it somewhere other than on the box, and if you can give it a little suspension (foam rubber underneath), all the better.

Yeah, I did this sort of temporary so I could get it going, but I really want to mount it to the back of the seat instead. That will be a Saturday morning job!
