can someone tell me why these gauges from ebay are for a "95-98" even though they look the same as these gauges for a "95-99". basically, will the first ones from ebay fit on my 99 or not? thanks

That's just a tachless cluster (typically zetec autos) for all years.
God graced us with intelligence, let's use it.

I have the ones from PCP and they're SWEET! I was gonna go pick up a cluster with a tach, but decided not to just so I could keep my gauges.

I bought a cluster with a tach. Switched out the speedo/odometer assembly after breaking the one in the new assembly trying to roll it from the 77K it said to the 108K I have. Lol, thank god they're the same exact thing.
But I'll be getting the indiglos for that here soon.

i did the same, got a v6 cluster w/ tach and put these reverse el gauges on them and even ran a wire from the ECU to the tach so it actually moves.. and it was at 20k miles i moved it to 74k where mine was...

I guess Mystiques are lucky, my 2000 atx zetec came with a tach and my sister's 1996 atx zetec came with a tach as well.

More typical of Ztech MTX.
I swaped mine out and just replaced the New odometer with my old one, it just took the removal of a couple extra screws.

Not more typical. Typical for both really, but slightly more chance of having no tach if you have an auto. I couldn't figure out how to swap the odometer,,, ooo well I just have a car with 30k+ less miles now.

i used a metal pick and "flicked" them forward. worked perfect and easy.
