Question, not sure how to ask,
but my rebuilt 2.5 has an oil leak coming
not from the crank seal, but rather
out of the keyway in the crank.... what could be causing this?
Its not a fast leak, and it really only leaks when running...
IE no puddles under car, except for where splatter accumulated..
to make one or two droplets.
Its covered under its rebuild warranty.... but I was curious
what you pros thought..

Very posible they forgot to put some RTV silicone in with the damper when they installed it or didn't put enough in. The only other thing to really leak from that direct area would be a bad front timing cover seal.

Yes, it went to the shop today, and thats what he
said he was doing to rectify the leak, RTV sealant..
I just wanted to make sure that was proper..
sounds good... now as long as he cleans up that undercarriage for me..
They owe me a DMD too, since they managed to put a dent in
mine... it wobbles at idle, smoothes out above idle

Well they ordered a new dampener..
and I did read that some of them wobble, but mine
had a noticable bend/dent in the outer metal.
