Anyone have a really good window cleaner you'd recommend? I put Rain-X on two years ago and now want to get it off. It leaves that haze whenever you use the wipers. I already tried the vinagar & water mix and it didn't work.

Eagle one makes a good, ammonia free cleaner that works great if you have tint. Try applying another coat of rain-x, I've never seen that haze! I think its a matter of buffing it off.

Same advice here- sometimes you can go to a detail shop and order that really good stuff in the can. I have rain x on my car from the previous owner- just cleaned the winshield really well and buffed it and it works like new. The dealership told me that they use orange clean to strip the windows at the lot. it appears to get the acid rain stains off the windshield.

Stoner's auto glass cleaner, it comes in a can and you can find it at any auto store. Cleans really well and doesn't streak at all.

Would not have believed this until someone showed me. Use a high grade steel wool on the glass, but be careful not to get too close to the edge of the trim/paint. It does wonders.

any abrasive car polish will take the Rain-X right off. 3M has several, Meguiars, etc. I don't think Zaino would work.

$33 shipped for a case of 12 cans.

Or, that 000 steel wool does work.

Zaino will not strip anything - non-abrasive.

If it's good enough for window washers....it's good enough for me....TSP! (Trisodiumphosphate) and water.

For the outside only (could use inside, but it is rather messy) I use:
Strip It windshield cleaning compound, by Wiper Mates.
Billed as a "windshield restorer"
It's like an old fashioned paint rubbing compound for glass.

This will strip off old acid rain/hard water spots, so I'm sure it will take off the old Rain-X as well. Then I would re-apply the Rain-X, making sure you buff it sufficiently. A final buff with a misted (lightly damp) towel helps.

After that, and for the inside, I second the recommendation of the Invisible Glass product. Great stuff.

We have a winner. I suggest you pick a few nice microfiber towel from www.neatitems.com there is no other way to clean glass.
