Just after I got my emission test last time I had a clog in my main cat and one of my front pre-cats (on bank 1). I just removed the insides of both and the car has run fine ever since. However, it is time to get the car tested again. How can I get it to pass????

I am past warrantee so taking it to the dealer for free replacements is not an option. I live in Ontario and we basically have a tail pipe test. I believe technically it is called a driven dynometer test.

Here is a description of how the test is done.
Drive Clean test

I also got this from another post about the test.
Quote:

Here in Canada your cel light means nothing...You can still pass an emissions test with your light on. Your CEL light has nothing to do with you passing an emission test. Your CEL light could be lit and your emmisions could still be well below the accepted tandards. Your CEL light does not mean your emmisions are below standards...Here they check your gas cap, exhaust system for leaks, and the driven dynometer test. It always helps to take the car in when its been run and the engine warmed up, new spark plugs, fresh oil and filter, air filter, and I usually swap in a new set of wires as well. Ours here are good for 2 years.

Any suggestions anyone would have would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it will be possible for your car to pass in its current condition. You will have to replace the main cat. With OEM cats, people have been able to easily pass tail pipe tests with a main cat and no precats. I don't know about aftermarket converters.
