Just want to make sure that performing a compression test on a 98 Contour SVT is the same as on a 87-93 Mustang.

1. Run car to operating temp.
2. Disconnect coil cable.
3. Unscrew plug and screw in compression tool.
4. Foot all the way down on the pedal (pedal to the floor kills fuel flow on startup), crank engine 5-7 times.

There shouldn't be more than a 10%?

Thanks.

Yes, except there is no central coil cable.

Ground the lead you have off, or if they are all off - pull power to the ignition system.
