How did you measure your lateral G's?

Good pics. They definately help me visualize deshrouding, valve guides, etc.
I have a couple questions, though.
1) That groove/cup thing that you cut out for the fuel injectors...how do you know the fuel is really going to shoot down the port? How did you judge, guess, or test where the fuel was going to go? In other words, I'd be afraid I'd aim the fuel injector such that the fuel would shoot straight up instead of down!

2) In "Stage 4" the combustion chambers don't look round. Am I seeing it incorrectly? If they are indeed not round, why did you do that? I would expect a round combustion chamber to be ideal. Also along those lines, what criteria do you use to determine a "good" combustion chamber?
