Cruising along on the freeway and some sob changes lanes w/o signal - going SLOW. Thank GOD for good brakes, Pop into 3rd for some pick-up, get it up and into 4th-WTF- just reving no engagement!!! I had to coast- thank God I was on the 280 split in SF by the farmers market. So I'm towed home and now I need to if anyone can suggest a place to take my car in SF?

It doesn't sound like its a clutch.....sounds like your linkage or Diff.....Because you could put it in 4th, it sounds like your linkage....

From personal experience i reconmend going to South County Ford in South City.

I know of quite a few people who are happy with there OE quality work.

Im don't know any independats in that area to i cant reconmend any....if in Sanjose id reconmend DJ performance.

I don't trust ANY of the dealers in SF, though you're just a few blocks from S&C Ford based on where you got off the freeway.

The only indies I know are around Mission district... Autolab, which is Capp between 17th and 18th. It was rated best auto repair by Bay Guardian newspaper a year or two ago.

Just a plain jane '96 LX V-6 here...
