Hi Guy's I was wondering if anybody had this problem before and knows how I could fix it. I just got my new sony CDX C90 CD player installed in my car with a Rockford 600 a5 amp. Now when ever I put the fade in the middle the amp goes into protection mode and no sound comes out of the speakers but when I fade it to the front it stays on no matter what volume. What do I do?

Well, I really don't know where to begin other than making sure all of the wiring is done correctly. Could one of the rear speaker wires be shorted? Maybe there is no signal going to the rear speakers when the fader is set to the front and the problem isn't being caused. Start with those rear speaker wires and report back.

Like dnewma04 said, it is probably in the wiring. Although It could be the amp. Try playing with the rca's. remove the rear rca's and try it then the front etc..

Sounds like a bad ground to me. It's likely that your amp isn't getting enough power and shutting down. Or the chasis may have a ground and cannot be bolted to a metal frame. My kenwood 401 has to have spacers put in to the bolts don't touch the chasis or else it is instant shut down. Ironical enough the 501 i have doesn't.

Also make sure you check the gain on the amp.....when it fades to middle maybe it's turning up and shutting off....
