Just curious, it's been a long time since all the doom/gloom/predicted engine failures from installing UDP's. I'm wondering what sort of mileage people are racking up on them now without failures. I was going to do a "with failure" poll too, but didn't think there was enough people to warrant it (so if you had a failure speak up!)

Sorry, underdrive pulley. Removes the damping ring from the accesory pulley (minus 3-4 lbs of weight) and underdrives the accesories by 20-25%.

I assume you mean duratec (as that's the only engine that has prolems ), though I voted anyways.

I am lousy at statistics and any thing that requires 3d though and so forth. However, I've always wondered about stats and results such as this.
I'll illustrate my thought by making one statement that may be true or false:
-people who install UDP tend to run their engines very hard
...that's not to say that the UDP doesn't contribute to failures. I know that there have been many postings and most CEGers know more about it that I do. I'm just putting forth that thought that there are those hard to consider variables. It's very similar to the ATX stories. Seems like I am supposed to be lucky that my ATX is at 115k on the '99 and has only had one drain and fill and has never stumbled, slipped, clanked or anything. I frequent take off fast and pass people at the upper end of the tach but seldom have I redlined.
Again, please don't think that I'm saying that I take care of my car so good or anything like that. Just trying to be thought provoking cuz it's late at night and I ran out of cheetos.

Im going to say go with a DMD. There has been plenty of descussions about them comparing the two. I have a DMD but I havent installed it yet, but Ive heard that the DMD revs smother. Someone else can chime in and explain more Im not expert.
