I just found out that 1300 miles before I bought my 2000 SVT,the motor was replaced under warranty. How can I tell if they put a SVT 2.5 in there and not a regular 2.5.Is there a difference in heads and block? The intake is a SVT, but don't know another thing besides that.Is there a part number to look for?Or anything else I could look for?
The car has never felt like a 200hp motor, but gets very good gas mileage.Im just wondering if they could have put a regular 2.5 long block and added allthe other stuff from the locked up original motor.

The SVT and the regular V6 get almost the same gas mileage.

I guess they could have put in the standard V6.

I just called a ford dealership...They said there were 3 diffrent long blocks that could have been put in, one being the SVT long block. But he couldnt determine which was which...But the intake,TB,exhaust, and all that other stuff are interchangable.Im just wondering if they put in a long block (heads, block,pistons,etc...)from a say SE?

my '95 engines (both of them) had sexy black valve covers. the new '98 i just had put in is grey- looks like sh!t. doesn't polish at all.
