Had a guy I work with look up some prices for me on a head gasket replacement with new timing belt...he said a "timing belt kit" is $154..what would be included in a kit? He claimed new tensioner i believe...does this sound right? Also the head gasket set was around $200....

Would appreciate any input on these prices or any other good sources for these parts...I wasn't expecting them to be so much....

Thanks,
John

Hopefully the set contains a belt, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley. Consider putting in a water pump at the same time.

Head gasket sets vary widely. They will contain gaskets, proper grade bolts, valve seals , and other replacment items. This price seems a bit high for a Zetec. Do you have a brand and part number?
