Ok, here's the thing, I found this site while looking for anwers about my transmission problem, which you guys diagnosed PERFECTLY thank you.
Anyway, AAMCO got me a new torque converter and rebuilt my transmission. This was back in October 2002. Since then, I have taken my car back 5 times because the transmission is leaking.
We took the car back yesterday morning....which was the 5th time.... and I finally spoke to the manager who first off told me the ONLY ticket on me he could find was where I brought the car in to fix a leak in May 2003. I told him what happened, that I had the warranty, and this is the 5th time my car has been back for the same damn leak. He said "Oh, well, if you got the warranty, it's run out already." I said "No it hasn't, I got the 50,000 mile warranty." He said "No, you mean the 36,000 mile warranty." I said "NO, I bought the 5 yr/50K warranty".... he goes "Oh, well, we were short a man yesterday, so we couldn't get to your car. I will have them check it out first thing tomorrow morning though."
Now, my question is, what would you guys do about this. I mean, I brought the thing back 5 times for the same leak, PLUS they have changed managers 3 times since I have had the tranny rebuilt. NOW he claims they can't even find put one ticket for the leak. This is getting ridiculous.
I am wondering if I should demand all my money back except the money for the torque converter. I am sick of dealing with AAMCO and they can't fix the leak.

well your first mistake was bringing it there. they f*cking suck monkey balls! they charged me $2100 to rebuild my tranny! and ive brought it back a few times because it kept messing up. AAMCO is the worst company ive ever dealt with. i HATE AAMCO. sorry man.. good luck.

Finding a good tranny shop is so hard to do. I hear of so many horror stories of shoddy builds and workmanship. I guess they are trying to make as much$$$$ as they possibly can. Even if this means screwing over the customer!

Well problem is, being military, I wanted a place with a nationwide warranty and AAMCO is the only place around here that has one.
I DO have the original paperwork from the rebuild, and they charged me $3,012 for the new torque converter, rebuild, and the 50K mile warranty.
I already emailed their corporate HQ and told them if this leak wasn't fixed THIS time, I was going demand most of my money back, they can keep the money for the converter, but I want the rest back, and if they don't give it back, I WILL sue them for it.
Let's see what happens. LOL

That is a good idea! Take it to a different shop, get a different set of monkeys to work on it.
