Are you running your stereo without the car running? If so you probably want to get a capacitor. I've got a Ford Motorsport battery witout a capacitor. I have a 4 ga. power wire kit and a MTX Thunder250D amp, a two way MTX crossover network, three 10' MTX BlueThunders and I've had no problems.

A good motorcraft (stock) battery should be fine. But if you start upgrading bulbs, adding neons, sidemarkers...so on so forth it can tend to drain you power. We are lucky to have high amperage alternators on our cars which help a bit. It depends on how much you want to spend on a battery..A regular mid priced battery will run you $50-80..I would recommed Interstate. I have used them for years with no problems.. Best warranty too!! But the best battery made in my opinion is the Optima. I have a optima 1050 cranking amps..It is awesome. A capacitor will only help you when the bass hits and you need alot of power fast. If you had a better battery you probably wouldn't need the capacitor. With the stock battery, a capacitor would help but you are still using a bettery with lower amperage. If you buy a new battery try and get one with at least 650 cold cranking amps. Hope this helps...Later
