Any installs out there that have gotten good sound quality from the door speaker upgrade? dynomat or any other sound deadning material used? I am gonna be upgrading my door speakers and I am considering going with 6.5" components. I know I'll need a MDF template to install the 6.5's properly.

I have 5" in all my doors and it sounds sweet. Kenwood Excelon speakers. I run a Clarion amp 400.4 on the mids and highs, and a Clarion 200.2 on the subs (2 JL audio 10w0 ran parallel, amp 1 channel mono) and it hurts

I have Boston Pro Coax 5x7's in all four doors. I sprayed the doors with roadkill spray, by stinger. Seems similar to just rubberized undercoating though. I also bought foam speaker baffles from crutchfield and cut the bottoms off only utilizing the hole where the speaker goes through and the flat part that goes under the speaker lip. These seal the speaker to the door. I am running it all off a punch 240.4..Like 30-35 watts RMS each and it is way loud. I have my gain at around half and never need it up past volume 22 or so on the alpine. Sounds great! I wouldn't recommend runnind mids off of any decks power if you want good, loud, clean sound!

Well I want a Hifonics Europa $-channel amp to run my interiors. I already have a Hifonics Boltar. This this has power wire capacity up to 2 guage. :-) Any of you experiencing "dimming"? and if so did upgrading the ground and power wire at the battery solve this "dimming" problem?

thanks

Lots of dynamat on doors will help tremendously.

For the dimming, get at least a 1 farad capacitor and strongly consider a 2 farad. Should take care of your problem.

I had a 1 farad cap on it before and I can attest to the cap adding power to the lack of power the alt can't make for the addition to the amp. The 1 farad cap will make a difference. :-)
