so my a/c compressor crapped out on my 99 zetec. i have a couple of questions: 1) were there ever any contours made without air conditioning? if so, what type of belt can i use to bypass the compressor and what is the proper belt routing? Secondly, where's the best place to find a new or remanufactered a/c compressor? thanks.

Lots of Tours dont have A/C. If you go to an any autoparts store I know for a fact most carrys both types of belts, one made for Contours with A/C and one made for tours that dont have it.

If you look on your passanger side strut assembly cap there is the drivebelt routing diagram.

For the new compressor I would go to Autozone I buy all my parts from there and have never had a problem with anything.
