I thought I was done with my system, but i am unhappy with some minor things. Here is the load down on what i have....
Nak CD-45z Head Unit 3 RCAs going to 2 amps -A/D/S 6 channel amp feeding the speakers -50W to the front component set, 6.5" Vifas and 1" tweeters -25W to rear 6.5" Vifa Woofers -Zapco amp feeding a 10" ID sub at ~200W
Now, i think i am getting a little too much bass into the speakers, so i would like to filter that out, also i need to filter some highs out of the rear speakers, and filter some highs and mids out of the sub (i think the head unit is feeding it too much)
So i think the easies way of achieving this would be with an electronic crossover. But i dont really know too much about them so i need help with brand and kind selection....
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Sounds like what you might need is a 4 or 6 channel amp that has builtin crossovers. I use a 4-channel Sony amp that is 1 ohm stable. I power all of my 4 door speakers with one channel that reproduces everything above 50Hz. The rear channel feeds my 2 12-inch RF subs only the low frequencies. The system works flawlessly and finetuning is fairly simple. Good luck ------------------ Black is beautiful. '99 Contour SVT. ...always clean, always mean. Definitely do not change the amp under any circumstances! Audio control has some great eqs/crossovers. A 3XS would be perfect for your needs and they are programmable. You can also program it to have a certain high pass crossover by changing a resistor (i think)
How do you like the Vifas?

There are a lot of mobile electronic crossovers available with prices that are all over the map. If you're on a budget, or just want to try one to see if it's really what you need, check out the 3-way crossover at Radio Shack, P/N 12-2011. It's on sale right now for $40 (normally $50). It provides outputs for low, mid and high frequencies. I believe the crossover points are adjustable. I've never tried one myself, so I have no practical experience with it - looks like a nice unit though. At $40, it's a real bargain because if you were to use high quality capacitors to filter out the lows, the cost would almost equal the Rat Shack unit.
I'm surprised your Zapco doesn't already have an electronic filter in it to pass only frequencies below 120Hz or so.
