For those with a pre-98 'Tour or 'Stique you can install a 90-95 Taurus cup holder into the DIN location where the radio is and relocate the Radio to the lower DIN slot. It keeps the car a factory look and these are a lot sturdier than the OEM cup holders. Also if you can find a Taurus SE/SHO storage bin, that does work in the lower din and has a lot more space (plus a lid) than the OEM storage bin. I have one of these installed in my 'Tour and I think it adds to the appearance to the Dash making it look more sleek.

Here are a couple pics of the storage bin in my 'Tour:

I had to pull my cup holder out of my Mystique to replace the broken storage bin in my SHO, so here are pics of it in my SHO, it would look about the same except reveresed in the Mystique. And when you put it in the upper DIN, it does clear the shifter. It will not fit in the lower DIN because of the shifter and the clearence behind there.

How much clearance do you have between the end of the cup holder and the atx shifter? I have a straight drive and hate having stuff clutter up around my stick and get in the way when I am trying to shift.

It goes over the ATX shifter in Park by about 1/2" unless you push it in a little bit. MTX does better, you just have to watch your knuckles. It is not perfect, but a lot better than the original cup holder.

Hey I just wanted to say that I put a set of these cup holders in my SVT today, I had installed a 1995 console already and I just removed the empty box that is in front of the shifter and put the radio there. And then I put these cup holders/change holders in where the radio was. I think it looks awesome!! And they function great. I do belive you would have to have a B&M short shifter or some other type short shifter to provide enough clearance for the cups.

This is a must do mod for anyone with a pre-98 console! These cupholders/change holders only cost me $5 (From the junkyard) And about 15 min to do all the installation.
