Does anyone konw if the PATS keys will still work if they get wet? They do have a chip in them, from what I understand, right? I ask because if I were to go scuba diving I would need to bring my key down with me, and I wanna know if I need to protect it. Thanks!

Yes it will still work. When I went scuba diving I borrowed my moms 2001 Windstat. It also had the PATS key. No problems at all. Even down to 110 feet.
Happy Diving!!

I droped my keys to my SVT contour down 55 feet in the carribean four months ago... did a little scuba diving, found them, worked fine. I've also.... dropped them in a pool, a bucket of car wash deterigent, washed them in the washer more times than I can remember, and lost them in the snow for a week til it melted. Still workin.... I shouldn't be allowed to have keys, should I?!

You should probably still take some sort of precaution just to be safe, but as the stories here show you should not freak out about it.

The electronics in the key are encapsulated in some heavy duty epoxy. It is VERY waterproof.

If you're really worried, just cut a non-pats key and lock your pats key inside the car.
