The plastic hose going to the VMV (vacuum modulator?) broke in half while changing the PCV Valve. It's the flex/bellows type that is routed along the firewall. Anybody replace this one? Can a simple rubber hose work? I can't tell what type of connection is on the VMV end. The short rubber hose piece that fits between the plastic hose and PCV is an odd ball metric size, but 7/16" may work.

Hose will work, but just make sure you use a neopren type hose that does not break down with oil residue.

Have you replaced this plastic hose (tube) on yours? If so, what type of connection is on the VMV end?
As far as I can tell, there is some sort of retainer clip, but I can't really determine what it is as far as type.

I have not replaced it on mine, but if you do decide to use hose...which should not be a problem, so long as it can withstand oil. Normal hose will quickly deteriate

mine broke also... but i am afraid to mess with the clip on the firewall as i dont know how its attach and dont want to break the valve that it is attached to.. kinda jambed in the firewall without much room to mess with it... anyone ever take this hose off the valve...even with the ford CD you dot get much on the way its attached... i am gonna use rubber hose when i get to end off by the firewall and rig it up with plain hose, the plastic accordian stuff looks too weak for me....

thanks but they were talking about the hose for the car, not the valve, part no. PCV 302 which is $4.99 at autozone.. they dont have many hoses, just bulk stuff to rig it up yourself type of stuff if you are lucky enough to get it there....

Yeah, I broke the tube, not the PCV valve or the T. I am gonna call Ford today to see how much the entire tube costs. I bet its a lot of $, so I thought the rubber hose deal would be cheaper and more durable. Right now I have the two ends plugged but cannot do this forever. The key is knowing what size and type connection is on the VMV end to determine if a rubber hose can be slipped over the fitting. I hate to take it off beforehand.
