I'll bet that it's no worse than my Mazda6, which 50/50 city/highway doesn't get out of the Teens in MPG.

I hear you on the high price of gas. However, I'm pretty sure the Magnum will be running on regular, whereas our near and dear SVT's run on premium. What I've seen posted is 17 city / 24 highway for the Magnum, as opposed to 20 city / 29 highway for the SVT. That's about a 15-18% decline in mileage for the Magnum over the SVT, which is then offset by the lower price of regular vs premium gas. So really it's about a wash.

And a Prius is not on my list!

I know someone who works at the Chysler proving grounds and says the 300C/Magnum RT are very similar to the 5-series in the handling department. This guy was very impressed, and I take his word seriosuly as he is a great SCCA regional autocross driver.

I read an Autoweek article on the 300C. They were getting high teens in the city and up to 30mpg on some highway stretches according to the on-board computer. also, foud this Autoweek article on the Magnum.

I don't know for sure, but suspect the Hemi requires mid-grade fuel like it does in the trucks.

I like it. It's on my list of next potential vehicles. I suspect the Magnum sales will lag expectations until a sedan (Charger) comes. Wagons don't sell in the US. Maybe in a year there will be decent incentives on it.

If you are really interested and your dealer can't work on a a decent price, I can get you a friends price, maybe even an employee choice discount.

Thanks for the offer APT, though I'm already entitled to a supplier discount (for DCX, Ford, Chevy, and Nissan/Infiniti) through my company . The Magnum is certainly high on my list, though I'd hope for some incentives or decent financing rates by the fall when I'm more in the market to do something.

If my experience with Chrysler products is any indication of their quality, just make sure you keep the SVT as it will needed when the Magnum is in the shop. The 'Tour will be your reliable car...

I think the Magnum is going to be awesome. I just drove it on Wed. since I work for Dodge. It handles great. It has this new feature on it called ESP. It automatically helps you drive in whatever condition you are in. On the V8 versions it is capable of once you get to a comfortable cruising speed of shutting down 4 of the 8 cylinders. That is why it gets 16 and 29 on the gas mileage. It is as long as an Intrepid is , but is about 5 feet high. It is also a very spacious vehicle, but then again this is only my 2 cents.
