Okay, Here's the deal. I know that I haven't posted here before but I have a project cougar that I am working on and I run a speed shop so I have been calling eveeryone about parts. Now, I got ahold of one of the heads at Eagle and they said that if they got enough e-mails for duratec rods within a year they would have them, for around 450 a set retail price. Thats a far cry from 1050 that I have found so far. As of right now I am using a set of their rods that I had to do a little machine work on to make what I wanted. I want this to take off so please let everyone know to e-mail them at www.eaglerod.com. They make great pieces that take over 700+ hp with no problems. Thanks for your time.

Oliver and Cunningham rods will make full custom rods for about $150 each. They are waaaaay better then eagle, they are made in america (as opposed to china for eagle), and have many options such as oiling holes, etc..

here try this Eagle contacts you are right about the oliver stuff. They have great pieces. We run them in our outlaw car. But as you said for 150 a rod times 6 thats a 900 for a set. The eagle rods are forged in china but finished here in the states. They still use arp bolts and will take over 700hp at the flywheel, more than 90% of the duratec's that are built up don't make that kind of power. And for half of the oliver price. If I were building an all out engine Id put titanium or aluminum rods in it anyways.

I just paid that for Pauter rods. billit 4340 chrome steel. Good for about 900 hp. I recieved them last week and they are beautiful. I would of course have opted for a little less hp to cut my cost in half. The SPEC IIIi can only take about 540tq and that's the only streetable high hp clutch I'd consider. I'll never come close to the end of those rods.
I contacted Oliver and they told me $250 a rod and 10 weeks. Eagle said they had nothing when I talked to them and had no plans.
Now what I would love to get are main studs. ARP discontinued the part # even though it's still listed. It sucks that the entire bottom end is forged or billit and I have to use TTY bolts to hold it together.

You should be able to call arp with your bolt size, they can usualy get anything you need. About the rods, this eagle deal would be great, the pauter rods are great but just a little much for what a contour crowd needs.

Wow, I had a set of the studs that were incomplete (no nuts/washers) and the shop I got them from just took them back a month ago or so I can check to see if they still have them.....

Why would you run titanium is a short stroke motor like a dura? Most applications are going to be high boost not high rpm. And not a combo of both because of overscavaging seen in the heads.. Past 8000 where you need over lap to do anything your just going to end up overscavaging. I think 4340 or a 6061 alloy would be the best bet on this engine. Piston speed doesnt even reach 3600 until around 7800 rpms...
