cel code = p 1405, took to autozone and the counter person has suggested that the gas cap was loose, i did get gas that morning.

could p 1405 be caused by a loose gas cap ie., air was getting into the tank and causing problems, as suggested by the autozone person.

thanks

No way. A p1405 code is an EGR problem, namely, Differential Pressure Feedback Sensor Upstream Hose Off Or Plugged.

First check for a hose off the DPFE sensor. If that doesn't work, your DPFE sensor may actually be bad.

A loose gas cap will cause a P0455 code.

If that hose is off the DPFE sensor and there is not good reason for it to be off, you may have plugged cats and the backpressure blew the hose off.

If you were within your 8/80 warranty (7/70 in CA), you'd have been covered. Bummer.

after autozone cleared the code the cel came right back, i assume its the same code, how much damage am i doing by continuing to drive with this? i may not be able to get to my mech as soon as i would like to, car is also stalling, after hwy driving i hit stop and go traffic and at a red light the car will just stop, it happened the other day about 5-7 times, i have also had a rough idle, when stopped at a red light, some times it will be so rough it will stall, and sometimes when taking off from a red light the engine will rev up and down as i keep my foot applied to the gas when i take it off and reapply it wont do it again,

what is going on here?
thanks

Replacing EGR Valve
Replacing IAC
Cleaning TB
Replacing Delta Sensor

Some guys around here on CEG have advised i change Plug wires, which is what i am doing today. maybe it will help.

Not long ago someone on this site found that small metal port (On the EGR Tube) which the Silicon rubber hose connects to had a crack and his CEL would come and go.
Is the DPFE orginal?
