Last Friday, I became an official Contour SVT owner! I picked up a tropic green, 99 SVT. The car was a one owner vehicle that was owned by a middle-aged couple out west. It runs, and drives perfect. I just drove it over a 1000 miles back home to Michigan last weekend. It got over 30 mpg on the freeway!!

First thing I did when I got home was change the oil/filter/air filter. I have ALWAYS run Mobil 1 in all of my vehicles and had great success. I gave her some Mobil 1, a new Motorcraft oil filter, and a new K&N air filter. By the way, nice location for the oil filter! What a PITA - got oil all over my exhaust, and lower air dam.

I have 2 kids so this is my first 4-door. I wanted something that was a 4-door, yet still fun to drive. I was going to get a SHO but they all seem to be beaten-up so bad. The Contour SVT fits my needs perfectly.

I don't plan on very many modifications, but I will do a few things. I am going to get some 17? Konig - Holes (with the graphite finish) and some new tires, I will keep the factory rims and put some snow tires on them for winter. I also plan on a slight window tint to keep the interior from rotting out. My family owns a business and one of the things that we do are custom interior graphics for seats. I will put on some SVT logos on the seats too.

So far, I love the car. I'll take some pictures when it stops raining here, and post them.

Holy [insert swear word here] 5 SVT's???

It has 49,000 miles. I paid $8300.00 for it. It is in near perfect shape. My buddy that works at SVT is getting me the SVT card that came with these cars because the orginal owner of my car lost it.

I like it. It drives very nice and is so smooth!

Some one on this site told it took 5 Csvt to find this site? Well to tell you I am not much into on line thing. No longer w/girlfriend and I am under going a major motor swap Got the time and found this site on pure luck. I am on my 9th SVT product and I can not even tell you how many fords I have owned. By the way have a 1996 ford aerostar v6 129,000 miles damage on the side I need to sell very cheap$900 runs. 1998 CSVT Black 72,000 miles for $4850 runs great.

Congratulations on the new (and rare) SVT Contour. I too have two kids, and find the car to be an excellent family sedan. It seats four comfortably, is fun to drive, has a nice sound system (I added a powered sub for low bass) and a pretty roomy trunk. It also is a heck of lot more refined than the SHO, another vehicle I have owned and didn't care for much.
