It had to happen sooner or later. After 5 years and 70 odd thousand miles we've said good-bye to Misty, so that someone else can experience the joys (?) of Mystique ownership. It waan't a bad car, I just couldn't put $600-$800 into a car that only booked around $2500. If I'd done the timing belt, the brakes, the cooling system, etc. it still wouldn't have helped carry my parents (both in their 80's) around, and they couldn't begin to get in the Jeep. My wife and I tried a 2002 Sable which was pretty good, roomy, quiet, cheap. But we decided we're not quite ready for an ol' fart's car. The Cruiser is well equipped, easy for everyone to get in and out, and as far as possible mods go...it's a blank canvas just waiting...

Maybe if Ford had continued to offer a Mondeo-type, or been a little quicker with the Futura...

My daughter still has her Contour so I may be looking for help once and awhile.
