Ok here the situation its kinda long so bare with me I have a 99 se with a duratech on that has about 115K on it its acually is running very strong but i dout that that would be for long. I want to drop a zetec turbo in it, my first question is which turbo kit can I get to make about 260 to 280 HP at the wheels, and on a scale of 1-5 how hard is it to do the swap? Thank for all your help you guys always give me good ideas.

Why use a Zetec kit? I'm just going out on a limb here, but I think a Duratec kit would be a little easier to mate with a Duratec motor. Hell, I've got two turbos and nowhere to put 'em.

yes i wanna put a zetec motor with a turbo on it, plus im thinking it might be a bit cheaper, weight less, and get the same amount of power.

I ment putting a a zetec motor with a turbo kit on it. Cause im not sure of the difficulty of the swap. Plus I wanna know if it would be cheaper (if it is how much cheaper)than rebuilding my motor with strong internals and putting a streetflight kit on it.
(I also plan to put strong internals in the zetec motor as well) yeah I know im a little confused also

Since the Zetec has a much larger aftermarket base,
it can be built up very well.
Much better choice for turbo than a standard duratec.

i do have a question though...

is it better to rebuild or buy new?

my engine & tranny are at 121K and I don't know how much longer it will go...although it appears to be okay.

I know that mtx-75's and zetec blocks can both be had for like $600-800 bucks so is it better to rebuild or just swap in brand new...in your opinion.

To tell you the truth id rather rebuild cause I bought that car brand new and i know what it has gone trought. I have baby that motor plus id like to keep the 6 cause that why I bought the car to beggin with. I just wanted to go with the zetec cause I thought it would be a whole lot cheaper to build a race like zetec rather than a duratec, but if the duratec can produce the kind of power that I want with a decent rebuild and mild boost it would be cheaper rather than trying to build a strong zetec to get that kind of power. The thing is that im not trying to get sky high HP like 300+ on the tour more like a reliable 250 at the wheels
