Noone said Toyota Camry? Why the hell not.

After seeing Top Gear try unsuccessfuly to destroy the Toyota pickup and hearing numerous testimonies , Im a 'fan' of Toyota reliability.

Ant,

My buddy has a Camary that he is going to get rid of very soon, due to the fact that he just bought a Ram P/U. (and he already has a Z28 SS) I know he was looking for that price. It's not the best looking, but he had a new motor put in it not too long ago. I'll talk to him tomorrow at work.

I could get pic if needed, and get his # for ya if you want. Let me know via email

Avoid the fringe cars like Saab, Hyundai, etc. Parts will be very expensive.
Look at old Buck Regals, Olds 88s, etc., or any GM product with the 3.8L. Parts are dirt cheap and the car is very very reliable.
I had one of these a few years back and bought a new water pump for $20!

I'd vote for an early 90's Accord with a 5spd and 2.2L engine. If you want comfort and space any older Buick LeSabre/Park Avenue with the 3800 motor.

Heh, I drove one almost ten years ago. Got an '88 Saab 9000 Turbo instead, at a "steal" for $4500. Big mistake.

The XR4Ti was alright from what I remember. Don't remember much though, and this before I really became a car guy (didn't happen till I was 20).
