Just please, before you buy ANY used car, do a Carfax check on the background. My first Contour was a 1996 Zetec ATX and I ran it until 85k, that's when I traded it in. I never had even one MODERATE problem. But, as with any car, it can be "hit and miss". Carfax will tell you if the proper recalls were done.
