i have a pair of polk audio 6.5 ex coaxials w/ a 3/4 inch coustic silk dome tweeter for my front stage these are run in parallel to a pioneer 100w rms x 2 amp. i have 200Hz high pass caps on the polks and 8000hz caps on the tweets. also i have the x over in the amp set at 100hz high pass (12db).Whenever I change the volume level i can hear an audible "pop" w/ each incremental change in volume. I dont hear it in the rear speakers or the subs. should i try different filters or do i need to get new components? on the subject has anyone heard the new jl evo xr 3 way series? id like something w/ decent midbass. also any opinions on the morel sr-6.2 2 way sys. or the focal polyglass series?

Do you her the pop when changing volume only.
If so this may be what we call "Zipper Noise".

Zipper results from your head unit.

Check the power and ground potential with that of your amps. Ideally they should be the same.

Regardless, make your grounds good. If you still have it, it may just be in your head unit. You can try cleaning it or replacing it.
