LOL No, I was just a reserve officer for 3 months, but have to take some time off of it for my real major, professional pilot. But come this summer, I am getting back into the reserves, hoping to get a job flying for law enforcement of some type (DEA, U.S. Marshalls, etc)

Oh my god! You admit yourself you were speeding right? So why go to court and try to weasel your way out of it? Just appear in court and ask for supervision. Obviously youâ??ve never been pulled over before so your record is clean. The judge will give you supervision right awayâ?¦just pay your money and learn your lesson. You donâ??t have to right to rant in here about a justified speeding ticketâ?¦the cop was doing his job...if you knew more about the law/system you would understand him.

I really don't know how it is in Georgia, but here in California it is illegal for cops to have quotas. That is just an old wifes tale that foolish people believe.

Yes I am sure you are far more likely to get out and help this cop when he is getting his a** kicked. ... more like you'll be the one begging this cop to come to your assistance when you're getting your a** handed to you for being dumb.

I wish cops would just get off their high horses,,, but that's why they are cops, so they can boss people around, etc. Like I said, I know and work with plenty of cops, I know how they are.

Yeah really sounds like you have TONS of respect for cops

This statement absolutely qualifies you as one of the most self centered, ignorant whiney f'ing people I have ever seen on here. I can only hope you meant that as a joke but even so that's just pathetic.

Sorry about all your family problems but none of that is an excuse for walking around with your head BURIED up your ass. You should have known by the countless other whiney "I got a ticket for breaking the law" posts that no one on here was gonna have much sympathy for you and after the above statement...well there's just nothing I can say that would properly convey how truly stupid I think you are.

Ok seriously, just pay your ticket and get over it.. Not sure if the "Polite" state of Georgia offers the deferral program or not, but if so, use it.. No points against your license unless you get another ticket within 6 months.. A speeding ticket doesn't make you a bad person, I got my first one when I was 16 and it wasn't even my fault.. Cop pulled me over on my way home from school because his BACK radar went off while a red Ford Probe flew around me, and he pulled me over because I had a ballcap on so he figured "hmm punk kid".. So I took the 23 over speeding ticket, paid it and took the driving class I had to..

The cop could have had a reason for having a bad day and not talking with you.. Just like you had a reason to be speeding home.. But you didn't ask him why he was having a bad day so I guess that's OK as you would say it

And good cop/bad cop.. It all depends on the cop and the day they've had.. Hell, I got pulled over doing 89 in a 75 through Alabama on my way home to Indiana from Mardi Gras.. My buddy and I told him where we were coming from and that we just wanted to get home, and he said "you boys see some titties down there" and that was the extent of it.. Drive fast and deal with the ticket if you get them..

I see that a lot too. My Dad especially hates that crap because he used to be a cop and didnt do stuff like that to give the public a reason to hate him.

A lot of the cops in my town are under investigation for all kinds of stuff, and half the town doesnt like them, most of them have the worst attitudes you have ever seen. There are some good ones, though. I hear a few of them are actually scared to go into some parts of town because they *might* not make it back out, after abusing their power so much.
I have been pulled over a few times by the bad ones, and I felt lucky to get a ticket or a warning without cuts and bruises magicaly appearing or getting hauled off to jail for absolutely nothing.

Duke city cops crooked? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Yeah, I know, hard to believe, huh?

You got your cherry popped! Big Deal!

Great, now learn to speed or get used to paying tickets. I don't think I can count my tickets on both hands anymore. I have tickets in two continents also, big deal! I've gotten out of about 1/3rd of them. Officer doesn't show in court, or lucky break on the side of the road. (Being a soldier on leave is always good for a break.) I've hired an attorney a couple of times when there was a manditory court appearance.

(You know, that doesn't mean YOU have to be in court, just someone, and for me, it was cheaper to pay $90 for one of those traffic services to plead it down to 30 days probation and pay the fine than it was to take a half day off work.)

I just look at it as a tax I pay about every 18 months or so for the privledge to drive from 10-20 over the limit.

Of course, I was pretty clean the first 5 years of my marriage. Then I got that Duratec powered minivan and got a couple of tickets.

Seems W is divorcing me, so maybe I'll be good for another 5 years or so, LOL

TB
Ain't afraid of no divorce lawyer, LOL

I think it takes a special type of person to be a cop (not necessarily wanting to help people,,, more like wanting to have a position of authority).

I guess your right, you ARE a polite person...

There are more good ones than bad ones, but I guess they are all bad, in your opinion, just because you got caught breaking the law. God forbid the guy do his JOB. My Dad was a cop because he wanted to help people, and help keep his family and all other families safe the best he could in the town he lived in. That includes people that speed just because they think its safe, regardless of what could happen. I guess the laws dont apply to you......

Every morning he woke up to go to work he didnt know what he could be getting into, whether getting shot just for pulling someone over, or worse.
But thanks for telling me why he REALLY became a cop

I seriously hope he shows up when you go to court, just because he didnt try to "help" you or be your best friend while he gave you the ticket. Dont go so far over the speed limit and you wont have to deal with this "evil" cop anymore.......
