If your going to enjoy your car and make a good investment in it, I suggest using a quality body shop with great references and not a commercially owned place that advestises cheap paint jobs!

I have heard though that really you need to talk to the guys that will be painting your car...in a huge chain, like Maaco, the quality will be different, as far as painter, depending on where you go. I know a guy that shows cars, and he has a buddy that worked for Maaco, but still has him paint all the cars...he swears by him. So it really depends, but the quality of paint would be an issue as well.

dude, do yourself a favor and forget maaco. i'd attempt to paint a kit myself before i'd give it to maaco. if u cant find or afford a great body shop, then try for a small independent mechanic shop that does body work too. should end up better than maaco.

it really does depend on who you know.
my buddy knows a guy that runs a maaco.
he gets cars painted and repaired by them all the time and they do a great job.
they are going to do my mirko for me.

of the customers getting good work!

As someone who has worked in a Body Shop and know people who have worked at Maaco, I would have to say I wouldn't trust my kids bicycle with Maaco. They have different "packages" but really they all use the same paint. The cheap paint. They do not do professional work. They do not do all the necessary processes it takes to have a lasting Paint Job. They basically just sand it with a DA sander and then wipe it down and paint it. I could go into greater detail, but as I said before I would not trust my kid's bike with Maaco.

moral of the story, unless your boys with the owner/painter at maaco, stay away.

You gets what you pay for, if you pay for cheap that's what you'll get!
