I'm working on wiring up my amp. i'd prefer not to drill a hole and was wondering if anyone had pictures of how they got through the firewall. I have a manual trans, so i can't use the clutch grommet. i might end up drilling next to this though. is there anything else that passes through the firewall or a hole i could just enlargen somewhere? i'm only using 10 guage so the hole doesn't have to be very big.
I've seen louisw and wrote to him for details. i've got my interior taken half way out and need to use my car tonight so... i gotta get the cable figured out so i don't have to put my car together and take it apart again. also i don't have any of those stupid torx wrenches! why don't cars just use metric allen bolts like bikes do?

I hope this helps. This is 4-gauge wire.

Actually, You do have that hole there but it's being occupied by your clutch assembly. I used the factory wiring harness hole for mine. I don't have any pics though. It's behind the cruise control unit in the engine bay. HTH, Tim

I wrote louisw about the power wire hole. if you remove the wipers and the driver's side wiper grill, there is a gromet passing from engine compartment to here, then another plug that when removed a hole can be made in the firewall insulation. I made a small hole in the rubber plugs and jammed my 10 guage through using the rubber plugs to seal up the install. This worked very well with the wire coming inside right above the funebox under the steering wheel. from there i ran the power cable through the kickpannel and under the trip to the trunk. next is the custom amp rack...

WHy don't you try around the PCM low on the back of the -passenger side -foot well.

It's a silver box tucked right above the felt hiding rags above the feet so to speak of the front passenger. It is also visible from the hood if you llok right there since it extends from the engine into the passenger compartment.

I did what Rolling did, just looked for any grommets on the engine side of the firewall and then checked the footwells for any similar area grommets that could pass through. I found it and cut holes in the grommets and pushed the wires through...walla! Done.
