Think about it.

If you do something stupid and it hurts, are you likely to do it again?

I sincerely hope not. You remember the past and you don't repeat it.

If you're going to be a dick, do it somewhere else.

No but it strikes me as hypcritical for our President to wrap himself in the flag in this issue when he at first tried to prevent an independent commission from looking into 9/11, eventually caved in under public pressure and appointed a commission of friends to look into this (including HENRY KISSINGER - I kid you not) and then refuses to cooperate with this commission.

It seems like the one who wants to forget history - or at least the inconvenient bits - is GWB himself.

Nice that you gloss over the fact that very few sitting US Presidents take part in such commissions and having your National Security Adviser answering questions under oath to a public commission is a security risk, by it's very nature.

You also gloss over the fact that the Bush Administration has handed over $12 million to the 9/11 independent commission to fund it's activities, demanded agency cooperation with the group (which, from what I've read, has been good) and has been offering security clearances to classified information on 9/11.

For someone that doesn't want any looking to be done, this administration is giving an AWFUL lot of cooperation.

I forget, though. The liberal US media is the paragon of truth and would NEVER spin a story to look like something it's not...

I dunno, even though it happened on Bush's watch, his campaign ads should focus on his stance, not bring up 9/11. People say Bush and Guiliani are great men for how the handled it, but think about this, how would anyone else have handle what happened? There's really no way we can say oh he's great because of how he handled it because it's something that you do what you have to do. Guiliani then recommended Bloomberg as mayor, and he's done his best to piss off New Yorkers. I have family up there and have heard horror stories. Last time I was up there (april 03), there was news that Bloomberg was laying off nypd and fdny. Yeah, that's brilliant - let's lay off our heroes from that day. Nothing like building some good will there.

Personally, as much as we should never forget 9/11, a campaign ad is an inappropriate place to remind people of it. The concept of mentioning it in an ad stinks of propaganda to me.
