Here is the orginal thread Finally after a month of dealing with a mechanic that had to learn how to put our car back together, our contour is done! the head's were warped and head gasket's blown the front was out 5000 and the back 3000, he charged us $1290 total, $500 for the parts and 790 for labor. I believe he wanted to charge more but he told us the final price before he did the work.
He had a horrible time with it he said he wouldn't do another one, and we had a bad time with him, he he told us 6 times that it would be finished tomorrow, tomorrow etc. I thought I was dreaming when I caled today to ask if it was done. and it probably wouldn't have been done but me and my brother went out there yesterday and stood there with them for 4 hours while they worked on it trying to get the alternator back on, and one of the helper mechanics pulled instead of pushed on the axle causing the ?splines? to come out of posistion took a half hour to get that back in place. he took three days adjusting the chains on the cams, which I understood, but he told us the first day he started them, "tomorrow it will be done" that was 4 days ago I believe lol
I drove it 80 miles today and it never went past the R on the temp gauge, it went to the M when I turned the heater off, so I turned it back on, I am not risking it! lol
we paid $1800 for the car its self and now $1200 more in repairs, the body on it is perfect condition so I think we broke even I hope
