Just wonderin if there are any Svt's or Se's running around out there with twin turbos spooling under the hood? If so what'cha got, who helped you, and how much horsies you pushing now?

No, no one ever has, and in the case of the contour, a twin setup is no better than a single turbo.

nick, a single turbo is already crammed enough underneath the hood of our car. Fitting a seperate collector pipe, turbo, wastegate, and downpipe is just down right ludicrous. I dont even think there would be enough room for a intercooler after all that. theres not enough room, not to mention, as rara said, there are no horsepower benefits from a twin turbo setup vs a single turbo kit on the duratec.

You won't see more HP cause the stock block will only do so much either way, but you MIGHT see quicker spool up, but we're talking full boost by 2500rpms vs 2800, assuming you could squease'em under the hood anyway. And yeah, twins might not be better than a single setup, but twin turbo's are cooler.

The only real benefits to using twin turbos are spool time (yeah.. not the best term.. so sue me). Twin turbos or a single turbo forcing the same amount of air into the engine would make the same hp.

to solve this question we should look at the enemy (ricers) who admittedly have more hard knocks here than we have. guys running twin turbo supra's and rx7's routinely pull there twin setup and replace it with a decent sized single turbo. advantages: lower cost, less room needed, less complicated, less weight. an example is garretts line of gt series turbos with a dual ball bearing center section. this allows a medium size turbo to spool much faster than it would five years ago. any body running a turbo in our car who doesn't want to waste his tires at every launch should consider a multistage boost controller. i've seen some in turbo magazine that allow you to program a minimum boost level at initially and increase it as rpm's rise or i think (not sure here) after you leave first.
