Anthony,

I know I have asked this before, but here goes. I have a C90 and I really liked the way your unit was seated in your dash without the trim that the unit comes with. I know you had it custom fabricated, but I really want to setup my C90 to look like yours. In an earlier post you told me the guy who made all the pieces for your, you wouldn't have an email address for him, or possibly any hints on where I might have something like that done. I live in Raleigh,NC and don't have too many Car audio places in the neiborhood.
I am also trying to decide where to put my Tweets, possibly in the pillers, donno though!

Thanks,

Justin

akeener285@aol.com is Marc Richmonds email address. Marc did all the work in my car.

If you know a guy good with abs plastic and body fill or fiberglass and body fill and radio baskets they may be able to do the job.

Marc can explain the details, but now that he is a Dealer Rep he's hard to run down.

When he is on the web he is normally at www.carsound.com.

If so, when are you comming back down to the GR area, I've been going to Extreme Car Audio hoping you might be there.

If not...my bad

I alway wanted to ask anthony a question about his car. Anthony how come you didn't use any speakers in the doors. Also how in the world did you fit an 8 inch sub in the kick panal. Doesn't it get in the way while driving. I just bought the same radio that you are using and I'm going with MB Quart 5 1/4 Q components in the doors and a 6 1/2 inch midbass in the rear deck. Also I'm going with 5 1/4 Q components as kick panels. I have 2 MTX 7000 15's that I'm going to use as subs. All I need to pick up is amps. I think I'm going with Rockford 600.5 for the components and the midbass and a 800.4 for the two 15's. What do you guy's think?

If you can get a good deal on the RFs than go for it. Typically, they are a little more expensive than most of their competition. I have always been a fan of a/d/s/ and PPI when it comes to SQ. For subs, there are so many alternatives, it's hard to choose one.

Also Anthony,
Did you like your SVR battery, how do they compare to Optima.

What model was it.

jcboeckl,
The car was totaled and sold to some guy in GA by the insurance company. I got all the stereo stuff and most of it is in my new install.

I will not sell the Phoenix Gold amps b/c they are one of a kind and sound way awesome.

The XTANT prototype speakers have been sold, Crossover SOLD and the only thing left to sell is 2 15" IDQ's custom-painted midnight blue.

I value the SVR's over Optima. Why? they perform better, more Amp Hours for the size.
I learned about SVR's from dB'ers. dB cars where hitting higher dB's and using their batteries longer when they switched from Optima to SVR's for the same install.

A. Van,
I was in GR end of last year and early this year. Want be back unless Extreme does a show.
Tell Pablo what's up.

SVT Member,
I would switch the 5-1/4" with the 6-1/2".
I want more mid bass up front, so put the 6-1/2? up front. I would also get rid of the tweeter on the 5-1/4" in the rear and mount the 5-1/4? as far back and in the corner as possible. This sets you up for more reflections off the rear glass and you can tune for width, height and rear fill with the rear speakers. The Rockford amps should work fine.

My first IASCA show car was done with 6-1/2 in front doors and 5-1/4 in rear deck with a ESP-3 center Channel, so I think you have a great setup, with EQ to tune it, it would be awesome.

The 8"s only take up the dead pedal space. You have to get use to not have the space to rest your foot but its no biggy. Just make the girls take their shoes off (first base  .

Why no door speakers, B/C they sound like close up and the stage can be polarized (left right with weak center). The is why I used the ESP-3 center channel with my set up that was similar to what you want to do.

If you put 2 speakers on the other side of the room and the image is in between the 2, the farther you move back from the two speakers the farther the image is front of you, right. Same reason for the 8"s in the kick I want them as far away as I can get them. My tweeters are time delayed, so even from outside the car the image sounds like it is in the middle to the back of the hood, which is what I need for competing.

Also the 8?s play to 20 Hz so all the sound can come from in front of you. Although due to the 15? sub in the back, transfer function and the size of the car 30 to 20 Hz with be everywhere. At about 50 Hz I start get good stereo bass. This is where the subs are cut off in my new car. My old car had 32 Hz sub cut off and Stereo bass was a lot better in it. But this why 8?s are up front.

Anthony,

What about any of the fabricated stuff, like the C90 plate, or the Pillers w/ cut out tweeter holes. Any of that type of stuff left, also why series was the SVR.

Thanks

Extreme is supposed to hold that mini IASCA event this summer again. Now that they did it once, maybe more people will show.
