Question for anyone who might have the answer.
I just bought a K&N air filter for my '98 SVT. I need to know if the stupid MAF that comes stock is self calibrating. It seems to moose alot now and hesitate when banging gears between shifts. Will either a new bigger MAF fix this hestation problem,or the copper pipe cap in the hose work better? I'm new to the website but not new to cars, this one is stumping me.

Is it a drop in or open element?....If it's an open element, it will moose most likely unless you do the TH fix (copper pipe trick) or do the TSB on it. Either way, drop in or open element, did you reset the PCM? That could be your problem. Was it a brand new filter, not used and re-oiled? It could have been over-oiled. Many possibilities....

Or pull your #4 and #11 fuses for awhile, IIRC. That way, you keep your radio presets.

If the reset does not work do you think a new larger MAF would help fix it?
