OP i4getlots_dup1 New CEG\'er I Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 13 USA	took apart my tranny at school and found i took some teeth off my ring gear ( too many burn outs and such) well i got the ring gear, but ford says the pinion gear is obsolete. any ideas. im thinkin of buyin a junk tranny and mix and match, but i dont feel like spending that much money on it if i can just get the gear. thanks. Im near the Boston, MA area FYI 96 Contour GL I4 hasnt been on the road for a year, tranny problems. nuf said

Cougar451 CEG\'er C Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 64 NJ	I actually have the 4.06 ring and pinion out of a post 2000 MTX-75 I had some focus guys looking at the combo, as some of them swap in the 4.06... Either way, ford did get rid of the splined pinion gear, now it's a one piece with the shaft. 99 Cougar V6 MTX...Plenty of mods My best mod thus far: Trans: Brand New MTX-75 with B1 gear set, Quaife LSD, 4.5 Final Drive, Spec Stage 1 Clutch, Spec Aluminum Flywheel...
