guys,
I need some serious stereo help.
Ok I have a pioneer GM-X542 50x2 or 150x1.It has the sub boost at 60hz at 18db. My question is? My diagram from the instructions show a three channel mode-two way system.
my question is If I wire the front speakers off this set up, will I still be able to use the bass boost to my sub....and will the boost affect my front speakers??
I have blockers on all the door speakers so I dont think it will, but dont want to damage anything??
Should I just buy a 4 channel and run all 4....
The amp is bridged right now at 150 to power my 1 10" fosgate, but the door speakers are running off my kennwood 30x4 headunit. The front are 3 way pioneers, and rear are stock(need cash to upgrade after awhille). Will I notice loss to the sub if I do this or will I notice increase to the fronts....???

Also should I just go with a powered EQ to run the doors..I don't want slamming sound just higher/clearer than stock sound.
It seems the sub has broken in and is drowning out the door.I have to crank the stereo to hear the doors, but hate to turn the amp down.Ups and downs...Sorry I drug this out so much..

I would buy a 4 ch amp.

You can mix mode your 2 ch amp but I have no experience with your amp running mix mode and I know some can not handle the load of mix mono.

I think your amp will have heat problems in mix mode but if it doesn't it should be better.

Your boost is at a freqency (40 - 70 Hz, some where) which your blocker should block if it cut off is above the boost frequency.

I would get a GM-X524 to go with your GM-X542 and you have a great set up.

I would highly recommend not running in mixed mono (or whatever they call it). If the bass boost is at 60 hz and you utilize the full 18db of boost, you will be running that to the front speakers as well as the subs, even if you have bass blockers. The way a bass blocker works is it rolls of the bass below a certain frequency. Most bass blockers are 1st (6db/octave) or 2nd (12db/octave) order. If you have have 1st order bass blockers at 120 hz and down, the speakers will be -6db at 60 hz, BUT if you have that boosted by 12-18 dB, your front speakers will be producing some (probably) damaging frequencies.

The other problem is that you will be running damagin high frequencies to your subs unless you have some type of passive low pass crossover attached.
