i was wondering if anyone has tried to put a 7" or 8" mid bass driver in the front doors. i was looking at mine ans if i cut out the bottom and back of the door pocket, then mounted a mdf piece to the door to mount the speaker on then covered the front where the door pocket is below the factory speaker grill w/ the same style color grill material, sort of a long oval piece. any support or ridicule appreciated as i may soon do some thing stupid or maybe not do something cool

Somebody here put some 8's in and I plan on doing it this spring. Actually, I'm putting some 7" in. The only thing you would have to check is the mounting depth. A 5/8 spacer will give you 3 3/8 mounting depth. It shouldn't be a huge job but you'll need to spend some time on it.
